You should not experience surface damage when applying this material in general. However, with the vast amount of surfaces, coatings, paints, etc it cannot be said 100% that it wont damage any surface ever. For example, we have seen some paint speckles get removed when applying to a cheap / older painted indoor drywall application. However, in the same building with new paint, there was no paint loss.
