A BN-20 or BN-20a Machine that has been sitting for sometime unused could have potential ink issues, especially if left off or unplugged. Also if there is any question to the storage conditions of the ink, it might be best to not use it. If stored in a place that was too hot or too cold, it could damage the ink and damage the print head.
A safe best practice would be to flush and clean the machine completely and put new ink in the system. If there are issues with the print head after this, it may need print head replacements. Unfortunately there is no 100% way to know this without test prints.
