This is a nice quality shirt compared to many cheaper 100% cotton shirts. One of the ways you can tell the quality of a shirt is looking for 'spun cotton.' This is a process that both stabilizes and softens the cotton, making an overall better garment. In general, cotton is a natural fiber and is subject to degrading with washing / drying, especially on high heats. You may also want to look at the Port and Company Essential for similar properties.
