When it customs to customized apparel, you want your customers to have the best experience possible. You want them to have the most longevity in their prints whether it's apparel or a promotional good. With all of this in mind, you will want to instruct your customers to take care with any print. It doesn't matter if its DTG, Sublimation, DigitalHeat FX or anything else that is custom printed.
If you allow your customers to 'wash like normal' they will choose whatever is normal to them. This might be washing with strong detergents on high heat, or dish washing a mug on a high temp wash daily. Heat will damage all things, nothing in the universe is impervious to heat over time.
Further from the damaging of the print, the actual blank itself is likely to be damaged by rough washing as well. No matter which blank you choose, even if its the best pre-shrunk t-shirt, a high temp wash and dry will damage and shrink the apparel over time.
We will recommend you advise customers to wash on cold and tumble dry low for apparel, or in some cases even hang dry (depending on your blank). Mugs and other promotional goods should be hand washed and not kept in the sun for long periods of time (unless the product says specifically its made for this.)
Saying all of that, everything we sell is of a commercial grade and generally withstands washing similar to products your customers will purchase in retail stores, which always comes with a degree of variance based on material, print, location, etc.
This practice will ensure that your apparel, promotional items and prints get the best longevity and help you create happy customers.
